The Phantom Catz
Team 2637: The Phantom Catz is a group of students at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School who love engineering and compete in the internationally renowned FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). We design, build, and control task-performing robots and annually compete with other teams around the world. To operate as a complete business unit, we engage in fundraising, budgeting, marketing, administration, scheduling, and public relations. We always welcome any new team members, sponsors, mentors, and volunteers. - so come join us in our journey!
FIRSTFIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. Our SchoolPalos Verdes Peninsula High School is located south of Los Angeles on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, near the Southern California coastline. The Palos Verdes Peninsula High School’s mission is to inspire and educate all students as they pursue their full potential within a vibrant, compassionate, and diverse learning community. To develop an engaging environment that fosters multiple paths to success and promotes a healthy social, emotional, and academic balance. Peninsula High can attribute much of its success to its fine teaching and administrative staff as well as its 2,500 students. Together, they make up the Panther Family. "Competition for the sake not of destroying one another, but for the sake of bettering and improving both competitors as a result of the competition."
