Meet our Leadership

​Mason Kramer -                                            Team President

Mason Kramer is the Team President and it is his fourth year on the team. Mason joined the FRC team at Peninsula his freshmen year spending his first 3 years on the team as a member of the mechanical design subteam. In his junior year he was given the opportunity to represent his team on a global scale winning the FIRST Dean’s List Finalist Award. Now in his senior year, he serves as the Team President, acting as its chief representative and leader. Mason is looking forward to using his technical knowledge and leadership abilities to lead the team to new heights. In the future he plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and later pursue a career in the aerospace field.

Omar Eltawil -                                                                                         Business & Marketing Director ​

​Omar Eltawil is the Business & Marketing Director of FRC Team 2637: The Phantom Catz. On the team, he is responsible for managing and carrying out the duties of the Business & Marketing Subteam, which includes marketing, fundraising, and administrative duties . In previous years on the team, Omar has served as the Team Admin. Outside of the team, he is involved with many extra-curriculars activities and clubs, such as being the President of the Latin Honor Society and Vice President of the Gaming Community Club. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, playing video games, and learning to code.

Jack Cunningham -                                                                                        Engineering Director 

Jack Cunningham is Team 2637’s Engineering Director. He is so incredibly excited to be a part of this great community, carrying out his 3rd year on this team and 4th year in FRC. He serves as the head project manager of the team’s technical wing, overseeing the development of the team’s robot. From exigence, he coordinates and manages how the various technical subteams operate to reach a completed competition-ready robot. Jack loves deliberating over the existence of technician, why that shaft collar goes there, and when the robot cart design will be done. He enjoys spending time with friends, being a chauffeur, and religiously going to Pho Hana.

Charlotte Chung - Outreach &

​Awards Director

Charlotte currently holds the position of Outreach & Awards Director. Through this position, she helps run STEM camps, donation drives, and more. She also mentors the FLL team 54040, and previously held the position of Safety Director. Outside of robotics, she is the President of Mock Trial and Captain of the Varsity Pep Flag Team. Charlotte enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Ella Cho - Manufacturing ​Director

As Manufacturing Director, Ella leads a team of around 15 members in prototyping, machining parts, and testing mechanisms. In past years, Ella served as the Safety Director and a mechanism lead. Outside of robotics, Ella is a certified scuba-diver with a passion for ocean conservation, and likes to binge-watch Netflix shows. At school, Ella is the President of the Girls in STEM club and invites guest speakers from various fields to talk about their journeys in order to demystify what they do with hopes to decrease the gender gap in STEM fields. In the future she plans on working in computer science or mechanical engineering with hopes of working at Disney as an Imagineer or at Google as a project manager.

Lily Wong - Safety Director

Lily Wong is the Safety director for FRC team 2637 the Phantom Catz. Her duty on the team is to make sure everyone follows safety guidelines and procedures thoroughly. She was a strategic scouter for the FRC team during the FIRST robotics championship in Houston, Texas 2022 in her freshman year. Outside of Robotics, you can see her on the track as she performs on the Varsity Pep Flag team for the school. In addition, she is a member of the Board for Girls in STEM Club, which is a group dedicated to bringing different people from different fields to talk about what their journey to decrease the gap between genders in STEM.

Jihoon Kwon - Team Admin

Jihoon Kwon is the team admin for team 2637. He is responsible for all the administrative duties of the team such as attendance, communications, media, new member integration, etc. Outside of robotics, he plays for the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School track & field team, where he participates in hurdles. He also participates in journalism, where he writes articles for the school magazine "The Pen". He is a big fan of reading and writing. He is often found enjoying a good book. He also enjoys listening to music a lot. This season, he hopes to make the team better with the skills and knowledge he has.

​Owen Liebenberg - Finance

​Lead

Owen is the Finance Lead of Team 2637: The Phantom Catz. He manages the financial aspects of the team, including overseeing the Purchase Request process, supervises orders and shipments, and regulates the amount of purchasing the team makes. With his own money, Owen spends lots on Magic: The Gathering cards and comic books, endlessly discussing his endeavors to friends over Discord. When not playing with paper, he can be found thoroughly washing and cleaning his lavishly long hair.

Deetya Srivatsavaya​- Pit Captain

As a sophomore, this is Deetya's second year on the team and her seventh year with FIRST. Throughout the season she prepares to ensure that our pit runs smoothly during competition by keeping the teams roadcase and its contents organized and making sure pit is always ready for robot repairs. She is responsible for developing a plan on how to prepare and run pit during competition and ensuring that her plan is executed flawlessly. In school, aside from robotics, she’s a part of science research, TSA, the Girls in Stem Club and Science bowl. Outside of school, Deetya enjoys volunteering and mentoring at the Aquarium of the Pacific, being on the board and mentoring at South Bay Math Circle, working towards her gold award with her Girl Scouts team, and more. In her free time she enjoys going out with her friends, using her scuba diving certification to help clean the ocean, volunteering, sleeping, and hiking.

Dylan Okada - Strategy &

​Systems Design 
Lead​

Dylan Okada is the Strategy and Systems Design Lead of the FRC 2637 Robotics team. With his continuation on the team's leadership, he is excited to start his fourth year developing the strategy and season processes for the rest of the team. Transitioning from overseeing all technical development of the robot as last year's Engineering Director, he wants to take that experience to the next level and define our team's strategies and requirements. He is overjoyed to see the team growing each year and looks forward to contributing towards a fully capable competition robot. Outside of robotics, he is the pole vault captain and competes in the hurdles events on his Track & Field team, enjoys time spent with friends and participates in his Boy Scout troop. He relaxes by spending afternoons taking naps, playing with his 5 cats, or going out to shop or fine dine. His nights and early mornings are often spent playing Valorant or video games with his friends and fellow members. Dylan plans to continue his interest in engineering and STEM by studying related fields in his last year of high school and in college.

Michael Kerker - Mechanical

Design Lead

Michael Kerker is The mechanical design lead. Michael creates and manages the design of mechanisms before they are manufactured. He has been on the mechanical design subteam since he was a freshman and has designed several mechanisms on different robots in his first three years, so he looks forward to overseeing the design of the entire robot as a senior. Outside of robotics, Michael enjoys getting coffee with friends and backpacking around California's mountains. He is currently working on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout with his boy scout troop, the Mountain Men.

Maya Fukunaga - Programming

​Lead

Maya Fukunaga is the programming lead of the FRC 2637 Robotics Team. It is her fourth year on the team, and second year as the programming lead. She is responsible for leading her programming subteam to write all of the code for the robot. During her years of being on programming, she has been responsible for creating multiple trainings and resource documents for her subteam. She really enjoys robotics as it is where she found most of her best friends, and she has enjoyed being able to be an important part of the robot building process. Outside of the team, Maya enjoys playing games such as Genshin Imapct and Valorant. She also enjoys reading lots of manga and watching good anime

William Sun - Electronics and

​Pneumatics Lead

William (aka. Milk) is the Electronics and Pneumatics Lead of Team 2637: The Phantom Cats. He is responsible for the wiring of the electronics, tubing of the pneumatics, fixing and managing motors, understanding and using sensors, placing electrical and pneumatic components, keeping documentation of the robot's systems, and more. In his free time, William plays a near-obsessive amount of Pokémon, toiling over the competitive metagames of VGC. His favorite Pokémon to use is Nihilego, finding it fun to blast opponents away with powerful Meteor Beams. Aside from Pokémon, William spends most of his time chatting his life away on Discord, finding overly specific and tasty foods to eat, or preparing activities for the members of his subteam, particularly tests and training. He prides himself in his ability to destroy his friends in Pokémon and cares deeply for the state of his Subteam, especially when they break the robots.
